A wonderfully over-the-top pair of vintage handmade Santa and Mrs. Claus Christmas decorations, crafted from folded book or magazine pages and embellished with all the trimmings.
Their pleated paper bodies have been painted red and finished with molded faces, faux fur, velvet, metallic trim, beads, rhinestones, and other tiny details. Mrs. Claus carries a fluffy muff, while Santa sports a full white beard and a fantastic jeweled belt buckle.
Likely dating to the mid-20th century, these appear to have been handmade from a popular holiday craft pattern or kit of the era.
